Coach Okky Masgono, PGA

PGA member 02_edited.jpg

Born and raised in Semarang, Indonesia, Okky Masgono moved to the United States after graduating high school to attend Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, CA. A natural athlete, he was actively involved in sports, winning both singles and doubles sectional championships in badminton and leading his high school basketball team to back-to-back Hexos Cup titles.

Okky was introduced to golf in his early twenties and was fortunate to start with proper guidance from a golf professional. This solid foundation in fundamentals helped him quickly develop a consistent, repeatable swing and a deeper understanding of the game.

After eight years of enjoying golf as a player, Okky decided to turn his passion into a career. In February 2021, he earned his Class A PGA membership. He began his professional journey as an Assistant Golf Professional at Anaheim Hills Golf Course and later served as Director of Instruction at Lion Golf Academy from 2018 to 2021. Today, he is a full-time golf coach dedicated to helping students of all ages and skill levels learn, improve, and enjoy the game.

Okky’s teaching philosophy is simple: “Practicing the right way makes perfect.” He believes that proper fundamentals, correct repetition, and clear understanding are the keys to building a reliable golf game. His approach focuses on breaking down complex concepts into easy-to-understand lessons while keeping the process fun and engaging. After all, golf is a game — and it should be enjoyed.

Outside of golf, Parker is a third-degree black belt in Taekwondo and spent two years teaching as an instructor. His martial arts background instilled in him a strong sense of discipline and mutual respect — values he carries into every lesson.

Parker currently serves as the Camp Director for the Nike Golf Camps at Arcadia Golf Course, where he is committed to creating a fun, structured, and engaging learning environment for junior golfers. He has a passion for working with kids and believes their energy and unpredictability make him a better coach. His goal is to help young players grow not only as golfers but also as confident individuals off the course.
